Proving Grounds
Catalonia Living Lab provides for testing of connected and automated vehicles on various comprehensive independent proving grounds. Besides the ones listed here, further proving grounds might be added in the near future. Customized testing solutions in controlled environments can be designed in case of specific requests.

The headquarters, composed of a 360-hectares main technical center which includes its own proving ground and a comprehensive set of laboratories, is located near Barcelona, Spain. Parcmotor CastellolíCellnex expertise in telecom and C-ITS networks and Parcmotor Castellolí infrastructure offer a complete one-stop solution for testing connected and automated vehicles in a controlled, safe, sustainable and respectable environment. The Circuit, located on a site covering more than 100 hectares, has infrastructures and technology to allow the facility’s users and customers to develop new CAV products, advanced traffic solutions and services linked to smart mobility and the connected vehicle, even for non-urban or semi-rural environments. Cellnex Telecom has equipped the Castellolí Parcmotor circuit with broadband connectivity, and rolled out a wireless network with coverage throughout the facility allowing for connectivity between vehicles and infrastructure. High-definition cameras for monitoring on-track vehicles and on-board units (OBUs) in the vehicles themselves (to transmit telemetry, video and voice data), plus an IoT (Internet of Things) network based on LPWA Sigfox technology, provide the ability to manage and analyze data, among other things. Aeroport de LleidaThe facilities at Lleida airport are rented for development and testing activities of space and ground vehicles. Its services mainly focus on unmanned vehicles. These services are provided in large space facilities that are safe, secure and quiet. Facilities include a large runway, a large platform, hangars and parkings. Support teams take care of specific client and project needs. Confidentiality is guaranteed by gapless fencing and a 24 hours security service. Characteristics |

Circuit de CatalunyaThe Circuit has set itself up as one of the most modern sports facilities, serving as the venue for the most important motor sports events of the world such as the Spanish Formula 1 Grand Prix and the Catalan MotoGP Grand Prix.
