Catalonia Living Lab provides a comprehensive engineering service portfolio designed to support automotive industry and research institutes worldwide. Between all partners involved, it covers the complete development cycle of automated and connected vehicle functionalities: from concept finding and design to integration and final validation. Besides the ones listed here, further engineering services might be added in the near future. Customized engineering solutions can be designed in case of specific requests.
BenchmarkingObjective and subjective benchmarking can be performed, in which a number of automated vehicles (or its functionalities) are compared on a set of predefined criteria. The results of this activity can be used to determine the strengths and weaknesses of a new product, or to specify the requirements and targets that it should meet in order to guarantee market success. |

SpecificationBased on the results of market studies, benchmark activities, client input and a broad experience, Applus IDIADA provides support in defining specifications for new products in the field of automated or connected vehicles. These specifications can include the definition of (technical) requirements, performance parameters, targets, system limits or the operational design domain (ODD). Specifications can be defined for vehicles and components on both hardware- and software level. The results of this service guide the design and development of a new product. |

DevelopmentApplus IDIADA provides support in design and development of automated and connected vehicle functionalities, in all stages of the V-cycle development process. For example in algorithm development for ADAS systems (up to SAE level L2) and highly automated driving functions (SAE levels L3, L4 and L5). Development activities include definition of system architecture, sensor fusion, object tracking, control logics and design of V2X applications. Overall system safety and correct and fail-safe operation is guaranteed by adhering to functional safety standards such as ISO 26262. |

Scientific expertise in autonomous navigation and roboticsIRI is a scientific leader in the fields of robotics and automatic control in Spain. Connected road solutions for cooperative vehicle services via V2X communicationsTaking advantage of its expertise in both road infrastructure and vehicle connectivity, Sensefields can now offer connected road solutions based on V2X – Vehicle to Everything – communications that allow for the connected vehicle to be upgraded to the cooperative vehicle equipping it with high advanced communications characteristics to maximise safety, comfort and efficiency. Sensefields on board DPU (Data Processing Unit) can support a wide range of V2X Day1 and Day1.5 services as published by the European Commission and Sensefields DPS (Data Processing Station) can be enhanced to DPS2 equipped with V2X capabilities that convert the station into a V2X-enabled Road Side Unit (RSU) compatible with other OBU & RSU manufacturers that follow ETSI C-ITS-G5 standards. Relying on those characteristics, the on board Data Processing Unit has been designed for multiple versatile uses with regards to road safety enhancement, network operation improvement and environmental sustainability considerations.
